One of the nicest camps I have seen during my numerous stays in Africa. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful in every situation. The accommodation is beautifully furnished, very clean and well maintained. The excursions with the rangers take you to the most beautiful places you can imagine. A special highlight was the visit to the local elementary school. The approach to the camp is adventurous but excellently signposted. However, you definitely need a four-wheel drive vehicle.
The most hospitable establishment I’ve ever experienced!! Each and every one of the staff were so eager to make our stay a special experience. Drinks and outings were included in the package. Loved that it it’s community run and based and gave us a special window into the rural KZN coastland area of Maputaland. It is a truly experience.
The staff was fantastic, really added to the overall experience. The location is absolutely fantastic
Awesome location in the middle of nowhere near the coast. It's a hell of a ride to enter the location but it's worth it. Accommodation, facilities, services and possible things to do a all very good. We had a very friendly and capable guide for our beach day and hiking trip near the coast.
We received a very warm welcome with exceptionally lovely staff ! Our room was upgraded which was a nice suprise . Accommodation was perfect . The food here is so so good , the chef cooks everything from scratch and being gluten intolerant was no problem at all. I was fully catered for with fresh gluten free bread and gluten free breakfast muffins ,so much delicious food and all vegatarian with a fish day too. We were taken on trips to the beach where gazebos were set up for us and food and drinks supplied , a very special beach day ! The guides were very knowledgeable about the area the wildlife and plants , we got to try monkey oranges ( tasty ! Sweet and sour ) and learnt so much . We were made to feel more like family than guests and felt incredibly safe and looked after. A very well worth visit and one that was hard to leave ! ????
The food was amazing. Even though we are not vegetarians, we really enjoyed the meals. The staff were great and very friendly. Lovely, spacious rooms.
As always, the highlight of our stay was the incredible staff. Nombuso, Mandela, MB, Mel and everyone else make the holiday every time. Not to say that Gugs isn’t breath taking, the food is exceptional, and the location is immaculate. I’m sure we’ll be back for another year.
Wonderful, friendly staff and experienced guide who took us on a succesful turtle tour, and he truly cares about the turtles and conservation, which is really special. Also enjoyed the vegetarian meals: creative and delicious!
